2 December 2015, EABC led by Rail and Road Infrastructure Working Group Chair, Mr. Georg Wolff, participated in TÜV SÜD – KU Rail seminar 2015 entitled “Best Practices in ASEAN Rail Commission” at the IUP Auditorium, International Building in the Faculty of Engineering, Kasetsart University. The seminar was arranged on the occasion of MOU signing between TÜV SÜD and the Faculty of Engineering, Kasetsart University, focusing on the experiences of monitoring and evaluation system commissioning process and standards shared by TÜV SÜD PSB Singapore and SMRT (Singapore). European perspectives on rail system were also presented by Professor John Roberts from KU Rail (Kasetsart University). By pointing out a lack of centralized Rail Authority and authorization process at both national and regional levels (ASEAN) as well as having supply base located outside the community, Thailand and ASEAN were urged to revisit the transport policy and establish ASEAN Rail Agency in which mirroring European experiences is welcomed.
